In our previous post about phone dating, we mentioned briefly that we feel our chat line is a better solution for most people than a chat room would be. However, in the interest of fairness, we’ve decided to make a list of the pros and cons of each, so that you can decide which one would be best for you.

So without further ado, this is the showdown–Chat Lines Vs. Chat Rooms!

In the red corner, we have the challenger, the chat room!

Free Chat Line

1.) Free and easily accessed by anyone with Internet.

2.) Can bring a large number of people with common interests together in one place.

3.) Offers a measure of anonymity.

4.) The ability to talk more privately with people you find interesting via private message (in most chat rooms).

1.) Often full of spam bots, trolls, and other “delightful” personages.

2.) Sometimes hard to follow all the text if the chat is moving rapidly. Voice chat is also difficult, due to the lack of quality.

3.) Lacks a real “connection” due to the fact that the entire conversation is text-based.

4.) Requires an Internet connection.

Now for the defender, our free chat line, in the blue corner!

Free Chatline

1.) Brings together many people from many different areas who wish to talk to and meet like-minded persons.

2.) Free and easily accessed by anyone with a telephone–no Internet service required!

3.) Added “connection” because participants can hear each others’ voices over a higher quality service than can be found in chat room voice chats.

4.) Ability to chat with many people via the free party line or with just one person via private chat.

1.) Although other participants do not each other’s information (unless people choose to give out their own info–a big no-no!), some people might not be comfortable with others hearing their voices.

2.) Extremely shy people may feel more comfortable typing in a chat room than talking on a live chat line.

3.) People who are more interested in one-off conversation, rather than phone dating, may find our community a little more close-knit than they would otherwise like.

4.) The menu options may take a little getting used to.

As you can see, there are pros and cons to both chat rooms and chat lines, but we here at Chat Her Box feel that most people will prefer our service to conventional chat rooms. If not, though, we won’t hate you. ;)

Why not give our free chatline a try to see if it’s right for you? This is not a “free trial,” after all. Our number is free, all the time, every time.
